Thanks for the heads-up. I checked out the site but couldn't find a mention of Charles or FB&TheCs or Pixies. Might you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Also, are you saying Myles Mangino is responsible for the trees/lights on the reunion tour? Those were so cool!

I got some heaven in my head

dyperman Posted - 01/16/2006 : 18:10:59
theres a guy named Myles Mangino who owns the planet of sound recording studio in Hartford Conn. (planet-of-sound.com)He has been with charles since the beginning. He says over 700 pixies shows and I dont know how many FBTC shows. He deserves some props from fans. Everytime you see the man perform the lights and the stage were designed by him. visit his link as it is ever growing

wish I could be as cool as Kim Deal

Wow, I didn't see THIS for a long time...

It would be nice to continue this thread, or perhaps it would be smarter to break it into smaller more specific threads: Honeycomb articles, FBF articles, interviews, etc. ?

Eventually I want to have a database for things like this, but I was talking about that before I left for Europe and still I've heard from noone that would do the necessary coding so that's probably unlikely. :(

wow! that's exactly what I just did

but only the interviews, too many FBF reviews to look at for my attention span tonight
maybe i'll leave it for someone else to do, come back in a month then search myself

FBC, not to state the obvious, but you'd also want to
go thru recent threads that are about
articles, etc., so that they, too, can be added to the
updated list here.

NOT A PROBLEM, K.

i read my other posts and realised i wasn't being very helpful or taking the initiative just by shouting "the links are down"
and when there's nothing on the surface, i like to delve a little deeper

i might go check for other articles that have been written after this page was last updated
i have an hour or two to kill
kathryn Posted - 03/24/2005 : 11:56:55
THANK YOU for your last post, FBC. It's been a source
of frustration for quite a while to try the links and find
so many obsolete. Dean, Brian, how can we update this
important cataloguing of The Man's work?

by founders and pioneers i mean the members who were here back in 2002 when the forum started, and now don't seem to post much if at all. A few have popped back now and again while i've been here and mentioned the forum having changed. Maybe due to the influx of new members stumbling across the site a year or two later, definately now because of the Pixies reunion and exposure.

it must have been fun joining the forum back then, especially when there were just a few members. i think I read in a thread somewhere within a week this forum had around 80. A Frank Black community was being born and all brought together. Personally I think that would have been pretty exciting.

But there are so many Frank Black/Pixies fans out there, it's only natural for them to come here. and then one day having the confidence to post on the forum. and so more threads. some good, some bad. same about the new members too.
rudebody Posted - 03/24/2005 : 06:48:45
Can't offer help I'm afraid but I love this site too and would be interested to know who those founders and pioneers were and why they left, if you know and care to tell.
frank black conspiracy Posted - 02/24/2005 : 05:15:41
any mod out there? can we help?
frank black conspiracy Posted - 02/22/2005 : 13:54:40
i'm sure it will dayanara.

just this is my fave site at the mo and it's a shame to see it looking the same as it did years ago.
its like its trapped in a time warp.

this is the only decent fb site out there, if not the only one. I just think there are other members out there who may want to help out where some have stopped for whatever reason. the site seems to have stopped except the forum.
the site still lives on, even though some founders and 'pioneers' have gone
dayanara Posted - 02/22/2005 : 13:32:51
those links have been dead for quite a while. i was supposed to be setting up some sort of article database, but i haven't heard from the powers that be since last year and i'm not sure what's going on at this point. patience, fbc, i'm sure it will get done eventually.

for the attention of whoever's in charge (king of siam a.w.o.l).

alot of these links are out of date and can't be accesse now.
just letting you know if you want to refresh the site a little or appoint people who will gladly do it. quote mistresses with no quotes, song databases with no updates, blah blah blah.

time for some changes you think?

or is everyone happy with the site as it is?
just a thought
rudebody Posted - 02/14/2005 : 07:33:23
Seems the first link to Rolling Stone isn't valid. Maybe just me but I can't find the 3part interview or any videos. In fact it seems that Rolling Stone are fairly down on FB, crap bio and only three album reviews and none of them very glowing. What's that all about?
frank black conspiracy Posted - 01/11/2005 : 11:36:32
Hey Kathryn

thanks for this, somehow I've skipped over this thread. How dumb am I? Shh!
If you hadn't posted I would still be none the wiser and in the Land of Ignorance.
This is gonna be fun......Yay! Lucky me.

Tried to get pictures from Northampton (was at both shows) ended up on a porn site. Is this some superintellectual cryptic insider thing I'm not getting here, or is someone screwing around with this well plotted site which my fear of things electrickeral has turned into an evil cyberlabyrinth of my own worst fears?
