Posted - 09/07/2018 : 06:11:46 I just listened to this while walking from the train to the office.
How utterly incredible is this song?
Is this the best thing you’ve ever heard?
What a song!
We take this stuff for granted.
I think our mission is to play this song for a friend sometime this month.
I’m just floored again by how good this song is. |

Posted - 09/30/2018 : 12:46:03 It's been a while since I've visited the forum. It's been so sad to see the lack of FB output over the past few years. It's like losing a part of my being. I used to always have some new amazing FB music to unravel, and it made life richer. :( Can't say I'm thrilled with most of the Pixies stuff of late, cuz it sounds like maybe they're trying to hard to have that old Pixies sound, but I think frank has outgrown it. If you ever hear his solo rendition of Greens and Blues when he pays with Jeremy Dubs, the song was setting out to be a major gem, but then it got "pixified". Which wouldn't have been a bad thing 30 years ago, but now that sound seems out of reach. But back to the subject at hand- I couldn't agree more!! SO Bay has always been one of my favorites! The second part of it could be a song all on it's own. I always wished he had written a whole song centered around that chord progression, cuz it's so damn good, but so short, and over too quickly! It definitely deserves a full length song to be built around it. The melody and chord progression is so G-Damn beautiful! A true genius at work! Sorry about the rant at the beginning. But please tell me what you think about the FB solo version of Greens and Blues. Do you think it's 10 times better than what was ultimately released on the pixies studio album? Here it is: https://youtu.be/jsH6RAvrQ04 And is anyone else as sad as I am that we're not getting any new FB music? Will he ever release music again?

Posted - 09/27/2018 : 08:25:24 It's always nice when an interviewer knows their @#%#@$. Great interview and some nice music curation and playing on FB's part.

Posted - 09/12/2018 : 07:15:52 I remember first hearing it and being surprised at how many of his choices rang from the 50s and 60s. I was listening to Teenager a lot around then and started hearing the 50s/60s influences in it, Pie in the Sky being the most overt. Even the sheen to the sound was all shiny new formica, chrome, even tuppaware. I hear tuppaware in Teenager. How about that!
