Bluefinger's 10th anniversary passed by this September, and I thought it would be a good chance to take stock of the Black Francis 2.0 era by making lists of our favourite BF songs from the last decade (i'll include Christmass).
I'm going to try both 20 and 10 song lists.

So I've crammed a lot of Frank over the last 6 days....it was fun. It's been a LOOONG time since I listened to Let the People Speak. As I figured, there were about 10 "locks", and I considered 17 options for the final 10 spots. Grand Duchy was the big loser in that whittling, as I had 3 GD songs in the final 23 but only one made the 20. Surprised there was no room for "Curse", but this exercise made me realize how much I like Praise3, so thanks for that

Very happy and surprised that DGMW is in joint top position. It's a fine song with fine lyrics from Reid Paley and some fine Mark Mulcahy input. Really hope BF and Mark collaborate on something again.

I like seeing everyone’s lists, the similarities and differences.
Don Eduardo it’s interesting that you put Your Mouth Into Mine at the top of your list because I never liked that song much until this very week when I started going through all Frank’s songs in reverse alphabetical order and I listened to it a bunch. It really rocks and is a lot of fun! |
