I really love this mans scream, and all of his crazy punky music.
while i love his acoustic stuff just as much, i find that easier to discover, honeycombs amazing, BUT ANYWAY, what's his heaviest work since the Pixies, tell me what you think?

Gotta go with FB&TC. Granted, Pistolero has some heavier moments (I Switched You, I Want Rock and Roll), as does Orange/Yellow/Self Titled/whogivesafuckwhatit'scalled with (Parry the Wind), but I think FB&TC kicks the most ass overall.

I'd say Bluefinger is the heaviest but FB&TC is rawer - and better.

Catholics debut is intent on causing some damage.

PISTOLERO. One of the most energetic albums Frank's ever made, I think. It was made when he and The Catholics began to really embrace the "punk"-ness of their approach to music (live-in-the-studio recording, lots of touring). It's an album of songs meant to blow the doors off a 250-capacity rock club.

The song "I Switched You" is the closest Frank came, on a Catholics album, to the old Black Francis scream.

Heavy = loud guitar music right? The self-titled Catholics album probably. Need to be in the right mood to appreciate it though. Some great moments on Bluefinger as well - Tight Black Rubber, CBAHAHI, Threshold Apprehension, etc.; all loud and in-your-face fantastic.
