Posted - 04/05/2011 : 15:40:28 I wouldn't liken the pixies to a casino act in that they are still amazing live, but i do agree that if they are to keep on touring they need to do something new (and I mean new material rather than more songs from the latter albums). |

Posted - 04/04/2011 : 09:40:28 Yeah, I guess I don't really count the Pixies as a Frank show. Those gigs remind me of going to the casino to see some one hit wonder from the 60's playing the same songs over and over again. They don't strike me as being real artists, just impersonators of themselves, somehow..
Frank used to love touring Canada with the catholics. All I'm saying is that it would be nice to see him back here again. Maybe just with his acoustic in tow? Those gigs are incredible, imo, and second best only to a proper FB & the C's show. |

Posted - 04/03/2011 : 15:30:19 I think so, to the working class elite and the student offsprings no doubt.
But there is still time to find a ticket if you really want to go I've sure, which I'm sure you don't.
Maybe they will also play some other festivals. I like you want to see Frank on the geetar again. The Pixies are dead to me unless they start playing latter album stuff live.
Or else I would like to see some new and excitiing bands playing live somewhere this year, but sadly I can't afford to.

Posted - 04/03/2011 : 12:31:25 Didn't Glastonbury sell out in like January? I'm hoping to go to day two of Hop Farm to see Patti Smith, The Stooges, and Lou Reed. Pretty epic list. |

Posted - 04/03/2011 : 03:34:29 They are playing Glastonbury in June this year, according to Joey on twitter anyway, unless he means The Everybody. So if you got a couple of hundred quid spare get yourself down to Glasto and see them there! That'll certainly be worth going to, can't vouch for any of the other acts. Beyonce is one of the headlines this year, it's kind of gone steadily downhill over the past 20 years. But there will still be lots of smaller bands worth seeing I'm sure.
It doesn't say they are playing here, but Joey only announced it a few days ago, festivals line-ups are always subject to change at any time. |

Posted - 04/03/2011 : 02:31:12 Just about to say. The real tragedy is that he's playing Canada (including Ottawa where I go to university) during my exchange year in Scotland! If only I could've traded years and saw them in Glasgow last year and Ottawa this year. But oh well, I saw them at Virgin Fest in Toronto a couple summers ago. What I really want is a Black Francis backing band show! I don't think he's been in Ontario solo since 06, maybe 07. But I realise he's busy with other things (especially his family) so I don't begrudge him. |
