Is there a version of the blackfrancis website that isn't so, um, CRAPPY? I have a fast connection and a fast computer and blackfrancis.net just freezes up my computer. Specifically, I'm looking for a low-fi version of the store so I can buy cd's, artwork, etc. Who else is having problems with this shitty website?

i just thought it was my lack of computer saviness. the free music is a great idea though...too bad it bogs down the site. maybe a corporate takeover/friendly merger would work. have frankblack.net combine with blackfrancis.net. get dean on the payroll so he could go on another world tour.

Yes, I agree. It's user unfriendly and I have no clue how to get to the store. I also can't figure out how to move the player out of the way. I have given up. |

I'm using chrome (which is fast) and it still lags a fair bit. Why have a mediocre video be the splash page? If you return there more than once, it's annoying - big time. And I agree that the audio player is a heavy load. There are more than a few better audio playlist players out there. It theory, it's a nice player, but it's way too much. I think I remember a version of the site a couple of iterations ago that was decent. Roll back! |

Well, they had the best intentions but it is definately too laggy. I think the problem is the audio player takes up so much space, so I wouldn't slam it too hard because from what I heard they put alot of work into that player to let people listen to all of his work for free. Still, it is too user unfriendly - maybe it would benefit from having the audio player in its own seperate page to avoid the load times? |

Yeah it's a mess. It does work (though very slowly) on Firefox at home. What browser do you use?

I agree, it's hugely bloated. Probably the most bloated site I know. Small (and simple) is beautiful, in my opinion. |
