my vote is toty. doolittle is great but i prefer toty. possibly one of the biggest sleeper albums over the last 20 years...i'm hoping for a 20 year anniversary tour in 2014

TOTY. Both have killer tracks, but there's twice as many on Teenager. And it sounds better. The over-compressed midrangey Doolittle seems harsh in comparison....

TOTY is better than Doolittle. 22 songs and not one boring moment. Not many albums like that mes amis. It's as good as Trout Mask Replica.

this thread is like asking someone to choose their favorite child, which no parent could do, blah blah blah...
but really, if your kids were TOTY and Doolittle, i think in your heart of hearts you'd have a special place for Doolittle. sure, TOTY gets better grades, but who likes a smarty pants? maybe some parents don't like their children having a better vocabulary than them, and lecturing them on inuit cultures and Roman history. Doolittle might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's got spunk. remember that time he got expelled from school for creating an obscene comic book series involving the principal? despite the embarrassment, even you had to admit it was funny |
