Posted - 10/03/2007 : 20:20:32 I went to see Frank Black play back in 2003. The song I wanted to hear the most was "solid gold", probably because I just broke up with a really ruthless, cruel bitch who tried to steal my soul. When I got to the show I went right to the front of the stage and waited patiently through three opening acts for Frank Black to come on. When he finally walked onto the stage, he picked up his Fender Telecaster and started strumming the opening chords to "solid gold". I almost shit my pants. |

When I logged into this website today I was thinking about how the last party I had at my house, about 3 summers ago. Everyone was carrying on, we had a bunch of whiskey and cases of good beer. I had stuck in the gold album because I could give a fuck what crappy music anyone else likes, and everyone was too wasted at that point to press the eject button. So I end up taking 3 huge bong hits, and then all of a sudden I realized how wasted I was. It felt like I wanted to diarhea, vomit, burp, pee, cough and sneeze all at the same time. I immediately made a dash for the bathroom. No one knew what was going on so they wouldn't get out of my way. I get to the bathroom and the fuckin door is locked. Within seconds I shit my pants and puked all over the bathroom door. Turned out my bro was recieving some much needed pleasure in there. Whenever I think about that, the lyric "getting so down" always resonates in my mind. So when I came to this topic I nearly shit my pants thinking about how I shit my pants and then you were shitting you pants. fag

Posted - 10/06/2007 : 21:02:19 Your post made me think of the times I've hijacked music at parties and slipped in the odd Frank Black/Pixies track (also some Pearl Jam) only to receieve disappointed stares; the music never lasts long, someone inevitably ejects it.
"What is this?"
"Frank Black and the Catholics."
"It's awful."
Ah well. It's a good thing I don't base my friendships on mutual taste in music. |

Posted - 10/06/2007 : 18:27:32 That's a great story. I never heard Solid Gold live but it's one of my favorites (from the Catholics era). I was quite happy to hear Suffering though when he came through town in the fall of 06.

I miss the Catholics but do so look forward to a Bluefinger tour with Violet. That's gonna rock, no doubt.
