Posted - 06/25/2007 : 09:21:01 hearing threshold apprehension, and how frank black has returned to his cool alter ego black francis. it made me wonder whether the bluefinger collection, is made up of the songs he wrote for the on/off pixies come back album. this song sounds so pixies'y, don't you think?
prehaps he got fustrated with waiting and just thought 'sod it, i'm going to record them',
i think good on him if this is the case, new song sounds amazing. |

Posted - 06/25/2007 : 13:11:44 I believe that's true, however Threshold Apprehension itself is (according to an interview posted in another thread) composed of song parts that were leftover from the Pixies days. So I guess the feeling wasn't entirely incorrect.

Posted - 06/25/2007 : 09:54:05 I thought about that too, but Jason Carter told us that "probably 75% of the album was written during the session". Which pretty much rules out the "written for Pixies" hypothesis.
Apparently nothing was calculated. The record just happened - thank Brood for that.
