I live here in Salem Oregon where the Leftys pizza show is going to happen on the 26th. The word around town is that two guys from here are now in FB's band. Here's one of the guys.

http://www.myspace.com/normalized

Look at the tour dates part. I think that confirms it.

And I'm betting that the drummer is his myspace friend Jason since they are in a band together and have both been spotted around town hanging out with FB. It's just a hunch but a pretty obvious one. Are any of you coming to the Leftys show? It would be nice to meet some fellow fans. Let me know.

Oh Shit, right, I double posted. Compoundment of humilation aliviated by deletion of second post. That is all.

"Aw yeah, that's the good stuff!"

Carl, you're a month and a half late. Twice.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

Ding isn't unknown to me, he toured with the Fall a few years ago--excellent shows. I believe he also had some hand in producing stuff circa Fall Heads Roll, an excellent album.

Hi Ding welcome. Got any personal favourites of his? Have you met the others yet? Or anything else? Your insights are invaluable.

Well Simon, I'm afraid we'll keep calling you Simon unless you reveal which of his tunes you're learning in your spare time
...and Simon, if you're learning how to play Debaser, Holiday song or Cactus, we will continue to call you Simon
If you're learning Threshold apprehension, Simon, there might be a chance the people here will start calling you Ding...

Hey Ding! What's the scoop on North American dates? I imagine that mum's the word at this point, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyways..

Cheers, and have a great time with the rock and roll band!

From Ding's blog:

February 26th PERSONAL NEWS - It would appear to be 99% certain that I will be playing bass for yet another MAJOR artist on tour this year .....I don't wanna say anymore for now, other than that I am very excited about the opportunity.... I will post more news as and when things are confirmed ........ It DOESN'T mean that I am leaving BOBBIE PERU !!!!!

March 13th : PERSONAL NEWS - I am most happy to say that I shall be touring, playing bass for Pixies front man Frank Black this summer. Dates are yet to be confirmed.

March 26th : (It's my birthday today) Dates for Frank Black's summer tour have started apprearing on his page ....so I've added 'em here too......am very busily learning his tunes in my spare time at the moment.

So. We have the line-up for our tour. Sweet!

I recognise Simon Archer from the PJ Harvey line up on the Please Leave Quietly DVD. EDF toured with her too, right?

Damn, I'll be in Eugene that weekend. But it's so my folks can hang with my son. I wonder if they'll mind if I sneak off to Salem for the evening?

Or does anyone know if he's playing a show in Eugene that weekend?

no, sadly I didn't. Can't believe he's only playing one gig here. Ah well. Maybe he's saving himself for the village hall I posted in the "FB plays in your town" thread.

You didn't happen to see another UK date anywhere, by any chance?

I've just had a look at Denis's Gigography and the last time he played Scotland was 2001. Damn, Llama. I thought we had it bad down here.
