Posted - 04/12/2007 : 19:23:40 He produced the Polonsky record, but all the recordings were scrapped and rerecorded by Polonsky in his bedroom or some shit. Why rerecorded? Dunno....maybe it sounded like Honeycomb...oooo snap! |

All Music states the following:
<< Black was impressed enough to not only get Polonsky a record deal, but to produce his debut. The Black touch is apparent throughout the album, especially on tracks like "In My Mind" and "I Don't Know What to Dream at Night," both of which boast loud guitars, sharp pop hooks, and cute lyrics. >>

Posted - 04/10/2007 : 23:57:03 I agree. "The Power of Sound" is more mature, but it lacks spontaneity. There are some killers on it, though. Do you have the "There's Something Wrong With You" EP? If you dig HMNIJ, you should dig this one too.
As for Swell, I can't find any info, sorry, but I clearly remember reading something about Frank producing an album of them. That was ten years ago or so, not sure but I think Frank had just released COR.

Posted - 04/10/2007 : 14:34:33 his latest record, the power of sound, isn't that great. It sounds huge, but I prefer the quirky bedroom songs.

Posted - 04/07/2007 : 04:27:28 The first Johnny Polonsky album 'Hi My name is Johny' is great, not sure if it's produced by Frank though. He's thanked on the record that's for sure.
