Posted - 04/03/2007 : 19:57:46 You are on a small wooden boat in the middle of the Pacific somewhere. You notice that your boat is starting to sink. You're gonna have to get rid of something by throwing it overboard. Your only cargo is the Honeycomb CD, and the two FMRM CDs, as well as a sony discman. You reckon that the weight of two CDs should do the trick. Which two do you throw over and which one do you keep? |

Posted - 05/15/2007 : 07:07:40 I'd immediately fling Disc 1 over the side to buy some time. Then try to squeeze a final listen out of Disc 2 before the boat goes down. Honeycomb, I'll keep |

Posted - 05/01/2007 : 18:04:11 If I was going by which album I like more I would say Honeycomb, but I would probably get bored of it so I would keep Disc 2 of FMRM because I haven't listened to it much and it would grow on me. I do love Disc 1, though. I'm terrible at this kind of stuff.

Honeycomb has never grabbed me, apart from Song of the Shrimp and Selkie Bride/Bridge.

Posted - 04/30/2007 : 03:58:44 Without knowing anything about Bluefinger I would keep them both. With Bluefinger coming out soon, I doubt I will ever listen to them straight up again, just a few songs once in a while. I consider the Honeycomb and FMRM as a parenthèse in FB's career, some kind of side-track. I can see the quality of these recordings, however. I just like them less than the rest. |

Posted - 04/30/2007 : 02:13:56 I'd chuck them both in and eat the discman.

Posted - 04/28/2007 : 21:10:26 disc 1 of fmrm but I would probably miss Honeycomb everytime I see some shrimp. Also if I am stranded in the Pacific I probably don't need to be listening to Sad Old World or It's Just Not Your Moment. At least with disc 1 I'm not Dead may keep my sese of humor and Golden Shore will give me hope.

Posted - 04/10/2007 : 20:19:45 I'd grab both and bounce. I think Davy Jones could dig on some Frank, and we'd have a shitload of eternity for him to get used to it, so we'd all be happy in that case.
Other than that I would make a small, sun-protective hat out of the three CD's and start swimming for the Somoan Islands. |

Gosh, which Frank Black album doesn't remind you of a lost girl friend (or boy friend)..?. Who never had another velvet nightmare of her (and him) again?
In the time of my ruin I did not know another Frank Black album would be created. That is what is great about that man. May he keep on beating our sentimental disasters with his songs.
Love on you.

If the boat is sinking why not ditch the boat and float on FMRM (you know, because it's so big)!
I'd have to keep Honeycomb. |

Posted - 04/04/2007 : 12:46:00 Check it out, frankblackphx -- you have a bee under your name now!
I'm obsessed with the bees and the post counts. I recently celebrated my second bee, and I felt so inadequate before I finally got my first. But now what I really want is a new title under my bees. Like "Beekeeper" or "Honeycomb." That would be sweet. Brian? Dean? Tre?
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Posted - 04/04/2007 : 12:34:58 This is a hard decision as I love both albums. I would say FMRM Disc 2. But truthfully Honeycomb is a sadder sounding album and might work better being alone in the middle of the ocean. :)

Posted - 04/04/2007 : 06:47:10 I'd have a huge shit in the ocean. I reckon that's more weight than 2 CD's, therefore I get to keep all 3.
Or if that wouldn't work I'd just keep Honeycomb.

Posted - 04/04/2007 : 03:15:07 I'd have to say keep Honeycomb. FMRM has some great songs but is a little too patchy imo. Hmm, difficult decision!

Posted - 04/03/2007 : 22:46:48 No idea why I didn't bring any other albums with me, but it would have to be Honeycomb to keep. For me it's just much more of a focused album. Also it'd be nice to listen to "Sing for Joy" in the middle of the ocean without a lifeboat in sight |
