I am terrible at expressing myself, but i have to make this post. This last year has been very strange for me, and has been the lowest point in my life. Your music means so much to me, and incase i never get the opportunity to meet you in person, i just have to say thankyou Frank.

hi 2Strings! I am new to the community of FB. FB is definitely inspiring. He has songs for every mood. Wait... that was said somewhere else... Anyway, I hope you feel as welcomed as i feel. I am proud to be a part of the Fans of FB family.

No apology necessary. It's nice to have an enthusiastic new member on board!

[EDIT] An enthusiastic new member, not memeber! That'd be mental.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, and i'd like to apologise for not saying hi to you guys in my first post. This seems like a very nice community (as if a collection of FB fans could be anything else!) and i hope to get to know you guys a little better in future.

Frank, thanks for taking time to answer yourself, that is such a cool gesture and it really means a lot to me to know you saw it. Thanks again for the music and i can't wait to hear what you have in store for the future.

This whole racing, Lance/Virenque/Ulrich, drugs, ethics discussion is quite interesting and deserves it's own thread.

Well, vilainde, you say so much about yourself in one reply. Key words---"French","cancer or whatever" and "hate." Lovely stuff.

I also like Kenny G and download child porn.

Hi,

Well that's refreshing to hear, because the only press we see in the USA from France about Lance Armstrong is lawsuit after lawsuit and book after book trying to prove he cheated and bring the man down.

Now I'm sorry I brought him up. It was supposed to be in the spirit of people like Frank Black that have inspired hope and saved people's lives by giving them the strength to want to go on living. Lance Armstrong has personally given me hope when I've had dark thoughts, and so I consider him to be a hero. It's certainly disappointing to think that he may have cheated, but I think it's even more disappointing that there are people obsessed with tearing down everything he stands for. Those people are not bringing light and hope to the world, only hate and misery.

Oh, let it go man. Whatever he did or didn't do, he has given millions of dollars to curing cancer, and has saved/inspired countless lives. Why continue to focus on tearing down a man that lives to help others?

How many millions has Virenque given to cure cancer? Everyone seems to have forgiven him. (For the record, I liked Virenque and always rooted for him. It sucks that characters like him and Ulrich won't be racing any more).

Oh, thanks - my dad is an espresso afficianado, so I'll take him there if it's not already his usual dive.

And it's not stalking if I have a legitimate reason to be in Eugene ;)

So Frnk...is it inappropriate for fans to approach you in public? I mean, it's probably an awkward thing for everyone, but who wouldn't want to meet their favorite musician? What are you thoughts on this? Are there any rules?

I'll be by the pool, playing with my guns.

totally off topic but

that's funny how lance seems to be a net door guy in the us while in france he's perceived as an ice cold emotionless killig machine.
frankly, during the first 5 Tours he won, lance was my god. so tactically intelligent and so much class. noblesse oblige, that kind of things.
Then there were some doubts etc...

FB stalker alert! Seriously though, I'm glad no one of note lives in my town. No doubt anybody of merit would have departed short of that threshold. Upon reflection, it's surprising we haven't had more random Frank sightings. Frank would seem to be a man on schedule, relentlessly and almost without fail, but otherwise anonymous. Our kind of guy.

Speaking of which, my parents recently retired to Eugene and I'm going to visit there in a few months. I wonder which coffee shops FB hangs out in?? OK, I was going through chemotherapy when "Dog In The Sand" was released and I beat cancer. So Frank's music cures cancer. I listened to it during my IV drip sessions for four months. It's been six years or so now.

Jeez, I hope 2Strings saw -- or will see -- that The Man replied. It'd be a shame if he (she?) poured out his heart like that and never found out the love was returned.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

I credit Frank's "Black Letter Days" and Paul Westerberg's "Stereo/Mono" with saving my life during my darkest period.

Thanks, Mr. Black. My best friend and I still drive around aimlessly for hours with your music, as those times are sometimes the closest we feel to existing.

I remember being very sad after the ending of a relastionship, and at the same time "Show me your tears" came out. I was thinking: "he's beside me". So I would like to take the opportunity to thank Frank for the song "everything is new", and for keeping it real through all those years and the years to come. Thank you

2Strings, what a first post! It's coming from the heart, like Franks musik. So I hope that everything is new for you now..:-)

Hi 2Strings, you're very welcome here, and I hope things have picked up for you. As you can see, the man himself is listening!

Frank helped me get through some tough times also,
my gradfather died in 93' and i went to see frank that night in st. pete fl. at jannus landing, my grandfather knew i loved franks music so much i'm sure he would have approved of me going,
anyway seeing the man that night helped me feel a little better

Hey 2strings, I, like these other great FB fans, can relate. During Frank's recent tour I was going through a difficult end of a long relationship and the 2 shows I saw in October were complete Godsends. I got to meet some cool forum members and watch Frank and his band just rip. Frank's music is one of many great treasures in life and I took that vibe and never looked back. Whether it be mental or physical, I hope you are on the mend.
