Frnk,
I'm the eager young man who swiped your pick off the stage in Nashville last October. I thought it pissed you off and felt bad, but you're my favorite musician, so it was worth it. Later when I read that some fans have gone as far to fondle you, I didn't feel so bad.
Your solo stuff and the Violent Femmes got me through high school, and the new songs on Christmass are a amazing. I can't stop spinning Dead Man's Curve. That's what I mainly wanted to say. You're new stuff rocks, man. You're the most prolific musician in the US right now. As always, it's a good time to be a Frank Black fan.

For some people, it might be the shaved head thing. That look is threatening to some people. I shave my head and I hear all the time that I look mean or angry when I'm actually just fine.
Anyway, I like aloof Frank. Chatty Frank is fine, too, but, for me, wondering about whether you're pissed off or night kind of adds (something I like) to the show.
Anyway, all I have left to say is...
Frank Black (or Black Francis, I guess)/Grand Duchy tour in 2007. Gonna happen, right? |

eep... OK that was me who "fondled" frank in 1993 at pearl street in northampton. I am jerk. but moreover, I was in high school and really excited about that show.
I promise to make it up to bf by tossing a guitar pick on stage at the next show I go to.

I've had the honor of talking with both Frank and David --both were friendly enough. David even signed my Golden Age record. I would have to say that both artist's counterparts are more friendly (Johnny Hickman and Eric Drew Feldman) I don't fault musicians for being dicks to fans. Fans must get very annoying. I am just grateful that they visit Nebraska so frequently!

There's an advantage to this, btw: you brush much longer if you're doing something else meanwhile. On the other hand Mrs Denis thinks you can't do it properly if you don't concentrate on the brushing.

Totally good on Frank for answering. Facial expressions can be the bitch: I've been told what I look like when I'm taking a swipe at a tee shot. Not pretty, but at least they knew I came to play. Good for you Frank, setting a fan at ease and no doubt providing a treat on the side.
