Tati's last film was Parade. It's good circus and mime stuff. http://www.ambafrance-us.org/culture/cinema/festival/tati/parade.html
Trafic is fun. The car crash scene is great, but it's not up to par probably (as is often cited) due to the lack of his control.
I liked My Uncle a lot, but Mon Oncle was better, me thinks.
Les Vacances is still my favorite. It's not as sad as the others, I like the blonde in it better than the brunette in Playtime, and the locations are really pleasing.
Playtime is spectacular, but so sad.

Has anyone seen his last film, TRAFIC? I've seen all his others, but for years have NOT been able to locate this one. PLAY TIME is superb.

His name is Dalton. He's got a degree in philosophy.

Luis,
looking back on your career are you more fond of your early Mexican films or the French era stuff?

at least that's what your mom said

"another misunderstood genius"

...sort of like Frank. It's not suprising that he's not popular in the US, as very few people over here have any interest in French cinema at all. I would have thought he'd be more appreciated in France though, it's too bad he isn't.

Mon Oncle, closely followed by Playtime.

I found a 7" record of the music from Mon Oncle a handful of months ago. It's superb.

"Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot" and "Playtime" are my two favorite Tati movies, but "My Uncle" is very good too. Indeed, this man was a brilliant director and actor (and also a great human being). A

nd the song is brilliant too, especially the Black Session version.

Hi, Luis. That's the only Tati film I recall seeing, and it's rather wonderful!
