You have their blessing to help promote the show by making posters provided you contact the venue.

does that mean you spoke to someone for me? or...
I'm guessing he got the word from Ken Goes, Frank's manager. CoF is pretty thick with a few important people. Regardless, someone who can speak for Frank has made the decree, you can bet.
Due to my present condition and predicaments of being a crippled as a result of the fatal accident that I had, I am not able to carry out this contract because I can only walk on a wheel chair. |

Posted - 08/13/2006 : 10:53:31 Well, I figure if it was my show I'd probably want to see either a finished poster or else see some other works of yours, but in any case I'll let you know if anything comes back from the batphone. :)

Posted - 08/13/2006 : 02:07:44 Unfortunately, there's no batphone direct to the man (his management, maybe) so your best bet would be the venue, plain. Unless fB gets to see this and posts a "nay" or "yay".
Hope you have some joy, one way or another. |

Posted - 08/13/2006 : 01:51:02 doesnt usually work like that.. its not really "legit" if i go ahead and do the poster without contacting the band or the venue first, just the way things work with doing work for bands.. you need permission one way or the other.. im sure i'll be able to get ahold of the venue much easier.. just thought it would be cool to get ahold of the band or management instead, i thought it would be fun to maybe even do posters for all of the prairie shows here in canada.. so we'll see i guess. so no band contact info hey? |

Posted - 08/13/2006 : 01:17:37 You might have better luck getting permission with a completed poster you want to use. I mean, I doubt highly that anyone would care or be anything less than happy so long as the information was factual and positive if you were to put up your own posters, but if you want official sanction, probably a good idea to finish the poster first?

Posted - 08/12/2006 : 20:08:00 hey, i have some posters up at gigposters.com.. none for frank black, mostly friends local bands and recently getting bigger names to design for through venues. my posters are here.. http://www.gigposters.com/designers.php?designer=57836
i think i'll be able to get permission from the venue here, but i'd rather get actual permission from frank black..

Posted - 08/12/2006 : 15:20:55 Did you design any of the posters at Gig Posters.com, plain? Or any in general? I've seen quite a few floating around and some are most lovely art.

Posted - 08/12/2006 : 15:13:50 we're not opening for them, nor are we connected with the venue (although i will try to contact the venue on monday..). my friend and i are just big fans of frank black and we are graphic designer/poster artists.. we'd love to do a poster for the show and want to do it legit by getting permission to do them.. yah.. |
