I just went to lyleworkman.com and noticed a media player on the right side of the page. There is a song, among others, titled "News is Gonna Break" -Frank Black. It's a completely different "Dog Gone" version than the album. I assume it's arranged and recorded by Lyle Workman. It's acoustic guitar, with a banjo, synth strings, bass, piano and drums.
Is this a studio acoustic version he remixed?

Didja check out the Beck covering Hank Sr. tune? Creepycalmy. Sounds like what you might hear if you were drowning. |

Posted - 06/30/2006 : 11:10:32 It is rather strange...in a funny George Martin way. Would be interesting if it were recorded with a real orchestra! That would be awesome...Frank crooning over a symphonic rendition of Dog Gone with a full on choral accompanyment doing the 'ooohs' and 'news is gonna break'.

Posted - 06/29/2006 : 22:11:51 I'm not sure, I think it might be a version they did before the FB&TC version. Someone posted about this before. You can get the track out of your browser cache after if plays right through.

Posted - 06/29/2006 : 22:08:35 This was discussed a few months ago with a link to the MP3 directory at Lyle's site: http://www.lyleworkman.com/mp3/
Judging by the title of the file, it was rerecorded in 2002. |
