Now that everybody has (should have) FMRM, there is something that should be discussed:
1 minute and 17 seconds into Dirty Old Town Frank shouts "Hey", does anyone else think that it sounds exactly like the "Hey" at the start of 'Hey' in Doolittle?

Or is this just a really stupid thread.

By the way the rythm guitar at the end of Dirty Old Town is similar to "There Goes My Gun". takatakatakatakataka if you hear what I mean
I'd like that pogues cover to begin just like it ends and then turn into a punk rewriting like Wild Honey Pie by the pixies.

I was wondering about the "That's rockin', man," myself. But I thought it was "That's awful, man." But then, that doesn't make a lot of sense ...
edbanky Posted - 06/28/2006 : 15:26:29
Maybe it's "Uriah hit the Cropper"? I guess the Tivster would know though.

Anyway, I was half expecting a polka to get going when I first heard the "Hey!" in Dirty Old Town. Really.

edbanky: what are french rolls?
edbanky's stepmom: just a package of rolls that are french

"Marty AND Frank?"
There was a second hey-er?

The "hey" is Marty AND Frank, the "That's rockin man" is Marty.

I stand corrected by myself.

bye,
Jon

Does anyone else get flashbacks of "How You Went So Far" in the dying seconds of "In the Time..?"

Proper rockin' Cropper?
Cult_Of_Frank Posted - 06/26/2006 : 07:18:29
I thought it was "proper".

Jon

This is one of my favourite tracks on the album, Im loving it. Cant believe it's originally about Salford and Frank just went and turned it all country! Marvellous!

Salford is a shithole for anyone that doesn't know (except the Quays). Mike, aren't you from Salford...

A pig or a goat well, they wouldn’t let you be mistreated

It sounds so similar that I too thought it was sample.

Is it not?

The 'hey' 2:48 into JOHNNY BARLEYCORN doesn't sound anything like the 'hey' from HEY though.

Hank the 8th was a duplicated man

Actually it makes me think of it each time I hear the song.
PixieSteve Posted - 06/20/2006 : 14:04:37

Maybe i should take into account that it's the same person saying the same word, thus the similarity......
