You should have seen him open for They Might Be Giants. He kept switching guitars over the course of the show, but he would just swing his last guitar behind his back and strap the next one on. By the end of the show he had like 8 guitars on himself. It hurt my back just looking at it.

Constitution Hall?! Holy crap, that's the first place I ever saw the Pixes! hey opened for Love & Rockets there in '89. What a bill. Both bands tore it up.

I didn't know they even still had shows there. The acoustics are pretty terrible.

Humphrey's in SD is supposed to be an awesome place to see a show. I'm looking forward to it. Still keeping my fingers crossed that Frank will play at McCabe's in Santa Monica again. It's the best... only about 60-70 people fit in there. I saw John Hammond there last Friday. Great performance.

I'm picking up tickets for that show too! The girlfriend and I are flying out from Virginia! This will be two months after seeing him with Foo Fighters at Constitution Hall!!

I've seen Frank live about 4 times. Twice in the same week when he was touring for Cult of Ray (they opened with The Marsist and he stood holding a glass of wine, tapping his foot with his guitar slung behind his back while the band just vamped for 5 minutes...it was awesome...so much attitude) once in Santa Barbara after DITS came out and once in D.C. at the Black Cat in 2002 or 2003. Also flew to Cali to see the Pixies at Coachella and then saw them at Constitution Hall a couple of months later.

I will go anywhere to see this guy.

In his thread, FB said he will be in Los Angeles in October, but the only gig listed anywhere so far is in San Diego (got my tix).

UPDATE: Hey! New dates on the home page!

Cool, that's good news! We have a bunch of solo acoustic dates, but I don't think any with him travelling avec band. At least none I've heard of, but I've been a bit out of the loop these past few weeks. Thanks for the info!
