I have been a passive listener of frank/pixies for many years now. I went to the pixies concert in Toronto last summer and it lit a fire of interest and 2 weeks ago I started to recieve pixies/frank black albums from a friend of mine and the fire has now turned into a full blown blaze that can't be controlled. I have finally seen the light and the light is wonderful.

I'm writing words on my computer letter key thing.

Just finished a front-to-back session of Pistolero at unsafe volumes. That is a really good record. I don't know why I don't listen to it as much as SMYT and FB&TC. Great songs. Great singin. And whoever set up that drum sound should be given a good boy cookie.

I have LeeAnn Tweeden's poop in my freezer.

I have nothing to add here. I just wanted to see the file folder on fire.

In one of the Q+As, Frank mentions how he had a few of his telecasters stripped down, sent to Japan, and smoked for several days to dry in wood out, in the hope of getting a more 'vintage' tone.

My personal favorite is Pistolero. Honeycomb and frankblackfrancis are up there too. My Tele is natural, not smoked...I don't even know what a smoked tele means. I know smoked salmon is good.

Teenager, definitely. Then again, never heard of the yellow album. Orange is a close runner up to TOTY though.

once for all (again):

yellow = CD
orange = LP (like i have)

and no, yellow/orange definitely. until the next spin of teenager, though...

Modification: only the "limited edition" LP copy with the silkscreened mailer covers are orange. I've seen copies of the LP on eBay with the exact same cover as the CD. I also have the silkscreened LP. It's nice.

Hmmmm... does that 'EB' stand for 'easily better'? or 'even better'?
Which is it, come on...

evidently better?

All the same, I prefer Teenager...

Don't you mean TSTO/YATIEBTTOTY?

Easy typo to make.
pixiestu Posted - 03/03/2006 : 14:47:17
I usually call it TSTO/YATINNAGATOTY.

(The self-titled orange/yellow album that is nowhere near as good as Teenager Of The Year).

The T of The Y is what Im talking about...

You know, those mountains look kind of ORANGE to me.

It doesn't really matter, though, as TotY is the better album.

Welcome to the Tomb of the Retarded Mummy, pl grivo. Oh, sorry. Wrong intro....

A wonderful time has chosen your interest. Frank Black's music is growing out of every different direction right now. Buy every CD and catch up.

p.s. just so you know- Charles stops by every so often. Remember these: he likes turkey, but only eats fish right now. His telecasters are smoked. And, most importantly, be careful mentioning coffee. He seems to have a bit of a dependancy he is trying to quell. OK, go.

Ohhhh, my hair is getting good in the back.
