Posted - 10/27/2005 : 17:12:14 I'm in the process of compiling a Halloween mix, and I want to include something by Frank. Trouble is, I'm having difficulty trying to come up with a song of his that fits the Halloween mood. The closest I can think of is "Six-Sixty-Six"...
There's got to be something totally obvious I'm missing here, right? The man has hundreds of songs, Pixies, Catholics, and solo; one has to work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Posted - 11/02/2005 : 11:45:03 Okay, Halloween's over with, but my #1 Halloween mix choice from the entirety of the Frank Francis catalog would be "Dancing With the Manta Ray". I do agree with "Black Rider" (the fast version) and "Skeleton Man", too, but "Dancing With..." would probably the only Frank song I'd put in my Halloween mix (if I were called upon to make one).

Posted - 11/01/2005 : 12:40:32 I ended up going with "The Creature Crawling," in between Soul Coughing's "Bus to Beezlebub" and Radiohead's "The Amazing Sounds of Orgy." Thanks everyone!

Posted - 10/28/2005 : 00:46:10 Men In Black and Man Of Steel would fit if we're including aliens. And you could include The Snake. But I think Black Rider and Skeleton Man are the two top choices in my opinion. And it may be a stretch, but Fazer Eyes kinda has a sci-fi/supernatural feel to it. Also, His Kingly Cave is a pretty dark-sounding song, with references to tripping over graves and rain and scary things. And it's about Graceland. Elvis is dead. I don't know where I'm going with that one anymore. I'm sorry.

I believe it's illegal not to include it.
And yes! "The Creature Crawling" is another obvious one I missed.

Posted - 10/27/2005 : 17:49:05 Ack, "Black Rider" and "Skeleton Man"! Of course.
And I like the idea of using "Olé Mulholland" quite a lot, Kathyrn. I think that could definitely fit; the music is somewhat creepy, at least, and there's a monster in there.
Hmmm...I'm also thinking "Parry the Wind High, Low"
