Posted - 09/15/2005 : 17:36:29 Yeah, I know the end of the story. That doesn't change the fact that the rest of it was pretty messed up. Besides, don't his wife and kids die? Sure, he gets a new family, but I'm sure it's not exactly the same.

I'd say Job is a rather unfortunate name, considering its history.

did you ever made it as far as the end of the story? I always thought the video for 'Take on Me' by A-ha was very sad cause I never saw the end. Not saying that the story of Job is a happy story, but it finishes quite ok.

Posted - 09/13/2005 : 17:50:22 Thanks for those links, guys. So Job Harriman was never actually elected major. And Llano Del Rio means Plain Of The River.

Posted - 09/12/2005 : 04:08:09 That's really interesting misterwoe! I did'nt known it was a real settlement. I wonder did the people who joined the community learn Esperanto? And did'nt Harriman become Mayor of LA? Frank seems interested in the idea of a utopian community-it kind of connects to Old Black Dawning, about the biodome, too.
"Western Comrade"-I wonder did Frank want to be a 'Western Star' of old Llano Del Rio! :)
And also Frank seems to like walking these dusty old trails, and seeking out strange, historical old places. |
