You even do the sniffing?!

My band covers Solid Gold, and every time we do the sniffing it sounds ugly. Only Frank can sniff and make it sound good.

Hey Guitar Man, do you think billgoodman has a bofoor here? I think it qualifies. Not much different from the sniff at the end of "Solid Gold", huh.

sniff's are alright
the sound of his mouth opening
and his tongue
(indeed no swallowing)
are a bit too much

yep, in the car, and on the home hi-fi. Forget about your little headphones and crappy computer speakers, I enjoy the picture-shaking, glass-rattling, home hi-fi speakers! And it's not just for Honeycomb but for any music I'm listening to. Headphones give me a headache and hurt the cartlidge (as opposed to the auditory parts) of my ears.

Wow, you're right billgoodman, you can hear The Man's mouth opening and his tongue coming off the roof of his mouth (I don't believe it's a swallowing sound) a few times in this one. Especially the first time he sings "At the dark end of the street, that's where we always meet" That really brings back old childhood memories for me. My great-great-aunt Eunie used to make that sound about 3-4 times as she began each sentence that she spoke. Aunt Eunie's sounds were louder than The Man's.

Headphones tend to hurt my ears after a while, but they're better in the short run.

How about giant speakers? You can stick them in your local park and blast it out! :)

Headphones

It's the same with all music not intended to be jumped around to. Serious listening needs to be done through headphones.

headphones without a doubt.
