Posted - 07/24/2005 : 11:26:43 Post here any news of Honeycomb doing well in the charts.
Honeycomb reached number 8 in the indie section of the UK's official chart. Can't see it on the main top 40 and I don't know if it's possible to get hold of anything past 40, but the White Stripes are at number 6 on the indie chart and number 38 on the main one, so Honeycomb could be in the top 50?

Posted - 08/06/2005 : 12:48:24 Let's hope that's true. I guess I could never really see him stoping either. I could see him slowing down b/c of his family and wanting to spend time with them... but I couldn't see him quitting. Of course, if he wanted to quit, we the fans would support that. |

I hope the album does well too, but...the Pixies probably rake in more in a week on tour than Honeycomb ever will. I get the feeling that Frank and than gang are pretty well off at this point. I think if he stops making music, it won't be for lack of money. |

Donīt know if thatīs possible, but I think it would be interisting to see, how HC sells
- overall - via soundscan - countrywise or at least labelwise - in France, where itīs out since the 4th of July

well, charts are important in the sense that, the higher up, the more sales, the more money that goes to frank, the more likely there will be a tour, the more likely he'll be able to keep making music, etc. etc..

Posted - 07/24/2005 : 23:22:13 Considering Wave of Mutilation (Best of the Pixies) charted at, what was it? Somewhere between 11 and 14? (cant remember the official number) number 39 for FB solo isn't too bad. I dunno how it compares in relation to chart positions for previous solo albums but I imagine that with the attention of the pixies, media and good word of mouth, that Honeycomb is the most successful solo FB album for some time. Hopefully it will have a knock on effect for the new fanbase who go and check out previous material. |
