Posted - 05/18/2005 : 00:18:46 pixies got added a few weeks ago locally to do a show...reminded me how much all this pixies stuff has really dampened the frank experience for me.
im happy as hell i got the recordings he has done, and happy there's another recording coming soon...but im really waiting for the death of the pixies to be official.
dont blame any of them for riding the comeback for all its worth and i hope its been fun, but it has been and is gonna be a long run.
...just a bit burnt out on the whole thing since i kinda got over the whole pixies experience... |

Posted - 05/23/2005 : 18:08:32 but...i dont wanna be happy to see the pixies back or a possible new pixies alubm =p
i graduated from highschool well over a decade ago...the pixies dont speak to me, anymore...i'm not feeling it.
i like the more mature feel of his later works these days...less cutesy, more honesty...
i dont dislike the pixies reforming thing..its just gone on a whole lot longer than i thought it would...from hints of warmup gigs and a few festivals over a summer to a one-and-half year+ pixies tourfest.
all in all, frank's given me a crapload of consistant recording so im not gonna bitch about a guy making some loot with his earned work...im just selfishly wanting all this to be over asap cuz im not interested... |

Posted - 05/20/2005 : 06:31:56 oh!
but don't you think it would be fascinating to hear what they could come up with? especially after FB's change of direction
i really enjoyed Bam Thwok because it brought back some Pixe quirkiness and distortion. i know it was penned by Kim but still, Frank didn't have a problem playing or singing it. |

yeah, the comparisons to previous Pixie records would slowly but surely piss me off though the waltz thing does both amuse and fascinate me. i wish they would. |

Posted - 05/20/2005 : 04:34:47 Frankly, I dont really care if they record a new album....we all know it wouldnt be the same, and everyone would be severely critical of it, including us. I am looking forward to getting Honeycomb.... |

Posted - 05/19/2005 : 16:57:44 Let's just be happy that we can actually see The Pixies play live, and may even have a new album to look forward to at some stage. I'm certain Frank will do a solo tour soon, he has'nt abandoned everything for The Pixies!! |

Posted - 05/18/2005 : 10:18:39 I believe some new music might help. What's up with that? Are they really going to keep touring without somehow arranging for new material to be released? And do you really think there will be a tour in support of Honeycomb? Seems sorta impossible considering Frank's album per year average and the fact that this year he's already busy. |

Posted - 05/18/2005 : 08:58:37 I kinda got burnt on the Pixies around the time Teenager of the Year was released. It's been an enjoyable and exciting reunion but I've heard those songs many many many times.

Posted - 05/18/2005 : 03:15:09 I kind of agree with what you're saying, but let me just hear some b-sides and rarities first.
Then we'll rethink things when we're standing in the crowd watching Frank play Honeycomb live. I betcha Pixies will be the last thing on your mind when we all hail Frank Black solo once again. He doesn't stand still and I'm sure the Pixie wave won't keep riding unless there's a few twists and turns along the way. Even they would get bored of playing the same old songs over and over.
Pretty exciting really.
The future of Frank Black and the Pixies has yet to be written, i'm just lucky i'm here surfing the wave with them both, song by song.
Plus I want some new Breeders, too |
