I'm sure this has been asked and answered before. Who is singing the duet with Frank on "Strange Goodbye"? I searched for and couldn't find the answer.

Not trying to be an a-hole, just wondering if this was a consideration during mixing/production.

I wondered that too

And Jean will be replaced by Courtney Love.

Oh, wait. We're supposed to squash that rumor, not spread it.

franknweezer, bear in mind that that version is unfinished. there's a chance it'll be completely different (with a different take) in the final copy..

Oh let it linger

Had a friend d/l it from Soulseek for me.

That's really cool, I did'nt know that. Of course, everone seems to have heard Honeycomb except muggins here....I guess I'll wait for the 'official' release. ;)

I think Jean has a really good voice. When I heard that... I was like wow... who is this?? I really like this song... among every single other one on honeycomb.

Yes you would be remembering correctly

Jean's also among the folks singing background vocals
on "Manitoba," if I remember correctly.

yeah jon,
but the lyrics
they are all about that it's akward that they are saying goodbye
akward doesn't have to be negative
it can be quite good sometimes
When I hear the song it's a blue print for the situation that can happen to any couple: you love eachother dearly, but it just have to end. (that's how frank said it in an interview)

I think she sounds great. I didn't even know she sung. Has she done this before anywhere? I only thought she did standup. Very good stuff. Thanks all who answered the question or added their two bits. And I second what kathryn said.

Jon, it's always a thrill to hear from you. I thank you for this
particularly insightful, insider's post. Please tell us more about each
and every Honeycomb song, of course without violating
The Man's privacy.

That makes sense. I do pick up a sort of "Johnny and June going to Jackson" vibe to it. "Goodbye, that's all she wrote."

Thanks.

Haven't heard it (waiting for the release), but I believe it's Jean, his ex-wife.
