As a person who enjoys much music which has absolutely nothing to do with Frank Black, I disagree.
I'm with BLT on this one.
Furthermore, I think FB is not the best musician of all time. |

Posted - 04/14/2005 : 23:42:38 Strokes are one of my favourite bands, but there is no way their music is similar in any way from Frank or the Pixies. |

Posted - 04/08/2005 : 17:13:49 The strokes were barely origional first day but yet they were a bit but they killed it by copying their own shi t all the time they may be only ripping off their own shi t but but even most of the fookers that ripp of people have changes in their tone. The strokes are stuck in vietnam and iraq and i hope a terrorised citizen pulls the plug on their bandlife

How? Did Frank steal their water at some festival or something?

Posted - 03/25/2005 : 20:20:25 I don't have nearly enough fingers and toes to count all the bands I've heard in shitty bars who sound exactly like the Strokes. Who knows why they were the lucky ones to hit it big? |

Posted - 03/25/2005 : 08:10:29 Yep, Fb/Pixies definately an influence. One of their favourite bands that i know of and have read.
I liked the first album when it came out as it was a welcome breath of fresh air to my ears. at the time, commercial music was dead for me. Still is in majority. But i've tried listening to 'Is This It' recently and I don't get that fun and happy feeling anymore. It kinda bores me a little and doesn't hold my attention.
Still, they were brilliant when i saw them live. the bass and drum vibrations sent round the room at the start of Modern Age was so immense my friend blacked out a few times. maybe something to do with the crowd sharing and consuming all the oxygen in that fucking hot room, but the bass line finished him off.
boy did i laugh. memories. ha! |
