Been mentioned several times before...

But was wondering if FB or the powers that be were going to consider releasing the alt version of Manitoba [that appears in the United States of Leland film]. Mid-2004 the director of US of L was quoted as saying he had "new songs by Frank Black" but a release for the film's soundtrack was never secured. Assuming FB/Spime licensed Manitoba for the film and a potential soundtrack release [that never happened], can Frank now release this song somewhere? Maybe on iTunes or the upcoming b-sides comp.

(( I talk plain talk ))

and FB/Pixies only play when a character is either shooting heroin or strung out on it.

i'm watching the dvd right now - the alt version of manitoba has a strong organ sound, but is less lush than the SMYT version. there is some audible pedal steel too. and either there are 2 verses before the chorus or it is edited that way for the film.

It was a Sundance indie, released to minimal theatres. No soundtrack issued.

Because if you watch the film, you hear the song...and the version you hear is not like the version on SMYT.

I believe that scott (harris) said that on this board
or maybe Frank himself
this story goes on for ages
when will they finally release the damn soundtrack
it would have had Lisa Germano on it too!
