For any questions you think don't deserve a thread of their own.

In 10%, is 'cotton mouth' similar to our UK 'dry mouth'?

Ah Floop, a true honourary Brit (though I see you more as English). You answered my year old question. I'm both touched and enlightened.

Fu, I caught the show in '99 and the axe-wielding maniac was present. To say I was impressed was an understatement. I presumed Rich was in the band throughout mid October after reading this article (http://eyesore.no/html/interview/FrankBlack.1998.interview.BAM.html), but then I read this and got a headache (http://www.ssmt-reviews.com/live/black.htm).

Did Frank strum along with the TMBG songs (Particle Man / Spy / Mammal)?

Without listening to it again but trying to recollect, I'm sure Mammal was just TMBG, but what about Spy and Particle Man?

when i saw that tour he came out and played along to SPY, and sung along with STATUE GOT ME HIGH

Does anyone here know much about The Catholics tour history of '98, specifically the Lyle/Rich situation?

quote:
>>When was the last time you played out?

A couple of weeks ago. We opened for Pearl Jam in the Northwest with our new guitar player [Rich Gilbert, formerly of Human Sexual Response]. He joined a few months ago; he's replacing Lyle.

What month did Rich.G start playing and when did Lyle leave?
Did Lyle make random appearances throughout the year up until the Pearl Jam gigs?

[edit] although Vovat beat me to it here

I've always thought of it as a follower of Isis for some reason.

The DITS pix were taken around San Francisco--there are ruins of an old saltwater bath house or something--I think it's a state park now maybe...But that's where they were taken.

Also, I wonder where the DITS photos were taken. Anybody
have a clue where the cityscape/swimming pool inside shot
was taken? Or where the outdoor/outside cover art is from?

I still believe in the excellent joy of the Catholics

I think the outdoor/outside cover art photos were taken at the ruins of Llano Del Rio Cooperative Communityin Antelope Valley, CA (you know, like the song...)

It is named by
Some guy named joe
And the words
Are the letters of the words
Said
Electrically played

This song is twice ocurred
And now its time to go Away on holiday"

Could this have something to do with the album sent with Voyager II of music, symbols, and words of the different world cultures?

Don't you think the Man sings 'fine' alot?

rarely okay, sometimes alright, mainly fine.
VoVat Posted - 08/12/2005 : 15:40:13
Maybe Joey Santiago named the record?

As for Billy Radcliffe, that really sounds like it's based on a science fiction story or something.

Surely there's worse cheeses than (the frankly quite nice) edam?! Some of 'em stink! :D
Stuart Posted - 08/10/2005 : 05:39:05
I guess I'd have to ask the question about the type of cheese that Frank avoids, just to test my theory about Edam tasting like Pete Samprass's insoles.

This is a high class bureau de change, not some Punch & Judy show on the seafront at Margate!

it's grim up north (KLF), that's why it is abstract there. it is as easy as to understand that doolittle is...you know, corny.
what am i saying ? don't even know what corny means. help, i'm slowly drifting out of range .....

I believe on the last Q&A with the man himself this question was asked and he said it's a combination of space and time hence SPIME, also it was something like a reference to Mose Allison.

the only logical thing i can add is maybe he had the 4 syllable melody 'doo-bee doo-bee' and needed a name to fill the gap.

you like that, doo-bee doo-bee?
i got plenty more where that came from.

On the first page thing they apear to be a type of worm and the others apear to be various parasites and some parasites are hermaphrodites.
