Posted - 11/28/2004 : 18:42:21 sorry if this has been asked and answered too many times before me, but which one would it be? Whose works of art would you take over the other? Imagine no Frank Black just Pixies in your cd collection. W'oh!
boy, this could be a shite thread for few. I mean, I ask a question I'm still trying to answer myself. Is there anyone who could help and answer this for me? I'll come back with mine after my head stops hurting.

Posted - 11/29/2004 : 16:27:50 I would choose franks work too. But I'm giving myself a chinese burn as I type. He's the only person I listen to at times. I think I'm riding one of those times now. The man just can't stop pushing himself forward. I've never known anybody like him or enjoyed so much listening and following and artists career. The man makes such beautiful art.
BUT (big but), I can happily post my answer with a big stupid grin on my face knowing I got Doolittle, Surfer and the rest in my cd stack Pixies will always be my favourite band of all time. Their records will be passed on and played to my children like a religion.
No Frank. No Pixies. |

Posted - 11/29/2004 : 15:08:27 I'd probably go with Frank, if only because he has considerably more albums.
The Pixies were probably more consistent in their work, though.

Posted - 11/29/2004 : 03:39:55 Yeah it is all pointless. It's just pub talk. The art of conversation is dead. I've thought so much about Franks music over the years that i'm running out of shallow questions to ask myself. I wanna know anything and everything. I absorb knowledge, I want more. It gets too deep to the point even I can't answer.
I know this site is 100% Black. Me too.
And the other night tisasawath, I was driving home so fast I couldn't hear my poorly recorded tape of Pixies. All I could make out was a drum beat and Franks voice: 1..2..3..she's a real left swinger! It was a pretty damn good version. I'd miss least the bass. But not Kim. |

Posted - 11/29/2004 : 01:32:08 ooo, brutal reminds me of that scene in Schindler's List where a mother is told she can't keep both her children in camp and has to choose which one is taken away... can't/won't decide, soldier grabs both of them, mother screams "take the girl, take the girl"...
similar to asking who you'd miss least from the pixies records (like songs with no drums or no bass+Kim's voice or no lead or no rhythm guitar+Frank's voice) pointless really |
