I was expecting to hear some good ol' Frank Black screaming in 'Frank Black Francis' but he avoided it by just speaking the lyric's eg. "when god is seven". I was just wondering if he still screams when the Pixies play live. In Tame, The Sad Punk, Rock music etc, etc?

His scream is definitely not as good. It's more of a bellow, rather than a shriek(which is preferable).

The only time I hear a difference is when listening to live versions of "Tame" recorded this year vs. the live 80's versions. He sings it more now than he used to, you can actually tell that he's saying "tame" as opposed to just shrieking like monkey being raped. But I must admit I do prefer the old way. The other screamy songs sound better now, though, especially "Something Against You" and "Gouge Away."

He´s as we use to say in Portugal, like the Port Wine, the older he becomes, the better he gets! And he surely screams!

i would not say so, having seen (? english grammar) him last year with the catholics. nimrod's son, caribou and especially 666 had the finest screams & holler ever - a wide range, deep and full, and perfectly tuned.

I joined the cult of Souled American / 'cause they are a damn' fine band

Oh yes, absolutely he still gives a good scream. In fact, I think his pipes have been warming up as the tour goes on. I've got one of the brixton shows where he's yelping and barking through three quarters of the show...

Sadly, we can only guess what he does when he sings Rock Music and the Sad Punk. He still screams Tame.
