Few lyrics describe a thing so perfectly. It's lines like these that make me adore and respect The Frank.

I don't want to be one of those persons, but I know it matters to some of you.... I'm pretty sure he sings "heroine from the stars". |

Yeah, now I do remember a glass of orange juice mentioned in that interview! I'm sure it's around somewhere...I wouldn't have thrown it out.
Anyway, Frank speaks about Adda Lee in an interview I posted here:

"'Adda Lee is a fictitious name, but it's a real person. A person I loved very much and who is dead. Normally, I wouldn't write about a topic quite so personal, but it was a short song and it was a nice song and, for whatever reason, Adda Lee crept into it; it became a lyric and felt right at the time. It's a little ditty about a very big thing. I con't think I could ever write an epic called 'Adda Lee'.

i miss the days when Frank would actually get covers on magazines. When i was in France in 93 he was on the cover of some French magazine and i bought it, of course, even though i didn't understand a word of the interview

Posted - 04/25/2006 : 21:13:07 There was an interview with NME, it may have been his first as FB, where he was having breakfast and I think he was drinking orange juice. There's also a COR-era one, where he's interviewed in his temporary house while his LA place is undegoing earthquake repairs, I remember he was drinking orange juice in that one!
I'm crazy, remembering shit like this!!

Posted - 04/25/2006 : 19:14:58 I can't find it right now. It is somewhere in the house, though, I'll try digging it out tomorrow. I did manage to dig out some other old article and interviews with Frank...maybe this calls for a new thread for an articles database?! I'm hopeless at resizing with the scanner, but maybe scans of reasonably-sized pictures might be manageable. I could type those up at some stage...

Select, which went bust in 2000. I have that issue and a cassette that came free with another issue that has Freedom Rock on it, I think that was the first time I heard anything from TOTY. I can't find the article transcibed online.

Lyrics: I'm a wishbone And I'm breaking Yeah, I'm wishing for Adda Lee
And the lake sings And the dogs don't They are quiet for Adda Lee Adda Lee
I`m sorry and I miss you And away, I went away Cause I wished I was away I wished I was away
A wishing well, of well wishing And Adda waves away Adda waves away
Heroine of the stars I don't know where I am But I know who you are
Adda Lee Whaaaa-oh Adda Lee
And she whispered And she left me a man For the world
Oh Adda Lee (x3)
