Sunday, the 28th of September, Frank Black will be doing an interview and session (!) for Belgian "alternative" radio station Studio Brussel. It will happen somewhere between 8 and 10 pm (Brussels time, I think GMT+1) in the great show Rock Bottom.

You can always listen to the radio station live through http://stubru.be . I think they also sometimes put the sessions online (on-demand streaming) afterwards, but I'll be recording it anyway.

After 1,30h of waiting, it finally started!

If you're online now, click here fast! http://stubru.be/stubru_master/home/index.html#

It should open a pop-up and you can listen to a FB acoustic session!

I'm recording it to MD by the way.

GO GO GO!

Thanks Wowee, I missed the start but heard the versions of Goodbye Lorraine and Velouria - both great, as well as Frank listening to some covers of his work. What did I miss?

You're welcome! Didn't miss much, the interview was quite banal - although Jan Sprengers usually does a good job.

At the very beginning, he played a song from his new record I think - I don't have it yet but my birthday is next week ;). Something about a beautiful day he didn't give a fuck about?

The interviewer asked about a forthcoming tribute album, he "read it on the net somewhere". Then Frank said it was probably the frankblack.net one, "not to be released, just for fun" or something. Pretty nice to mention the URL if you ask me.

He didn't recognize Placebo's version of "Where Is My Mind" ("are these guys Belgian? Swedish? German?" :) ) but he said he was going to sing it on stage with them on the night he's doing their support in France.

That's about all... as I said I'll upload it and shit as soon as I have time.

Mun Chien, I use GoldWave (for free at http://www.goldwave.com ) but I recorded it from cable radio to minidisc- much better quality than streaming audio. I'm going to load the minidisc into Goldwave and then somehow cut it up in tracks, but I need to ask a friend for some assistance on that.

Ah anyway it was fun to hear Mr. Black on the radio.

This is the link I found on the StuBru site:
http://www.vrt.be/wm/stubru/frankblackitv_LO.asx

I think if you change the LO to HI you can listen to it in high quality. I haven't tested it yet (neither LO or HI) but I thought I'd let you know anyway. The LO should definitely work.

Another plug for FB.Net and the tribute album! Now the question is if Frank will ever listen to it or if it will sit in his CD collection acquiring dust.

Give him a good interviewer dammit! (Oh and for those who actually care, apparently it was NOT the fantastic Jan Sprengers.)
