I thought you guys might like to check this out. FrankBlack.Net is listed on the fourth "tab" on the front page of iTunes' Podcasts. Also, you're in good company with Jello, who's on the second "tab". Congratulations!

I loved Dean's comment on how people in the States pronounce "Saskatchewan." It's true! We're so lame!

Yeah, like people in Canada know how to pronounce most things. Or call them by the right name.

Guys,

3 things:

1. You bastards !
2. The French song from the guy who got a copy of Oddballs was really average, really....
3. Great podcast nonetheless, as always !

1) Blame Brian.
2) It wasn't a battle of the bands, just wanted to see someone interested enough in getting a copy that they'd go to the trouble of recording something for us.
3) Thanks, majeux.

:)

Very good one, I went straight in the sign (french expression to say the joke worked).
And it's true that Violet absolutely deserves a second listen, I was just thinking it's a great and moving song, though I did'nt really noticed it at first.
And thank you a thousand times for playing my little song and making the wish in it come true!
I was dancing like a alcoholic monkey near my computer a minute ago.
To majeux: it's not really a song, more like a musical message. The one that writes the songs is Frank Black.

Wow, the Gouge Away on podcast one is awesome stuff. When Frank starts to sing after the instrumental part...Yikes!

And Grotesque, nice song. When will you be posting the tabs? Seriously, I like the little guitar riff you have.

Thanks for the feedback guys, as always. A question:

Is anyone streaming the podcast off the internet? I'm wondering because our bandwidth usage has already reached the point where we can't put out a second podcast this month, and I notice that there are a lot of people listening to older podcasts as well as the latest... far more than I expected or can even fathom. Or are some of you just checking it out for the first time?

Wouldn't it be better to download it, rather than stream. Maybe you could post that on the podcast site.

COF...I've been downloading them...but if it would be better for bandwidth purposes, I'll stream it. I just need to know how to do that. In fact, I thought that's what I initially did for Episode #1, but since it has downloaded them.

No no, streaming is much worse for our bandwidth, keep downloading away hickster. I think I may leave a note on the page, thanks Jop.

I'm going to be paying for a second server to host these and other occasional high-bandwidth things, with a little help from what's left of the Friends' Club. What this means is that Friends' Club is going to be coming back from the dead in order to help us finance these podcasts (hosting with the kind of bandwidth we need is not cheap!) and have enough to pay for both servers next year (and also enough for me to continue to mail out CDs and books and stuff to you guys when I get 'em).

Dave's got a lot of paperwork to sort through to figure out who's still a member, but I think I can now say feel free to donate if you think the site and what we do here is worth it. If not, no problem. You'll still get all the stuff you get now for as long as we can afford it. I'm not promising monthly draws like we were doing before, but certainly we will do our best to give back extra where we can to Friends Club members without holding anything back from non members.

Dean, no need to pay.
We could host it on a free.fr server like Jedi did for the tributes.

That's an interesting idea... Can they handle 300 GB of traffic per month? How fast? How much space? Will they be around a long time? I know nothing of this free hosting, but anywhere I've examined that's free wouldn't touch this with a ten-foot pole. Thanks for the ideas.

To my knowledge, it's unlimited.
