This is a thread for movies you've just watched. Old, new, it doesn't matter.
Name them, and give your opinion. This IS NOT a thread for your favorite movie or movies you watched last week!

DO IT!

'Dirty Work' staring Norm Macdonald. I love this movie! Cheesey comedy with many good jokes. Silly premise but hilarious.

'The Hulk'. Yes it's kind of slow and has some lame scenes, but enjoyable none the less. I hope they make another with more action.

Thumbs up for both.

The Paper Chase - dramedy about a first-year Harvard Law student. I loved it. My fiance (who isn't planning to go to law school) fell asleep within 15 minutes. Two thumbs up.

Party Monster - True story of Michael Alig and NYC club kids and their crazy lives. Very odd, but quite entertaining. I bought the book which it was based on after watching it.

I don't get it. I watched a movie last night, can I talk about it? Or should I have posted yesterday right after the movie? Anyway I didn't even see the end. It was Year Of The Dragon with Mickey Rourke. I thought it would be great cause I've seen other Cimino movies and liked them, but nothing happened and eventually I got bored.

The last film I watched on TV (it was about a month ago) was Saraband, by Ingmar Bergman. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I mentioned it in the Netlix thread but I just watched BLUE CAR and it was super fantastic. So beautiful and really sad! I would not watch it again but I am so happy I watched it because I loved it all.

This weekend I am going to watch LOVE LIZA and ANGELS IN AMERICA.

The Village

It was good. I was surprised! Good acting, subtle directing and writing. M Night Shamalamadingdong is a great movie-maker.

If your going to watch LOVE LIZA be prepared to be depressed for the rest of the day and probably the following day as well. Still worth watching though. I watched abit of Instinct with Anthony Hopkins and Cuba Gooding Jr. last night, it was rubbish.

I've just seen "School of Rock". Not the whole movie. It could have been a great one, but it's not.

I'm pissed off because Jack shows the rock history diagram on the board too quickly. Now I have to download it just to see the whole thing in slow motion.

I saw National Treasure last night...

Interesting but all the unwanted cheese made it suck. Thanks Disney for sucking up a cool idea.

I watched The Devil's Playground last weekend? Am I allowed
to talk about a movie I did not "just" watch? Like Denis, I am
confused.

Anyway. Devil's Playground...interesting documentary, kinda
Real World-ish slash reality TV-ish, about Amish teens gone
wild. Crank, hip hop and other shitty music, beer, the whole works.
Only they're Amish. Oh yeah, the movie is also a fascinating
sociological tour de force. Rent it.

But I'm glad that other people liked it.

Kids movies.

"Teacher's Pet" and "the Triplets of Belleville"

Teacher's Pet is silly. Catchy songs, though.
Nathan Lane voices the dog who wants to be a boy. Kelsey Grammar and Mary Jo Rupp feature, too.

I guess "triplets" isn't really much of a kid's movie. My daughter absolutly loves it, though.

Especially the Josephine Baker bit.

A little off-topic but what the hell, I watched American Idol once this week. Great show!!! The best parts are the auditions that they are currently showing. Once they get to Hollywood it gets kind of boring.

Tonight I watched Bill Bailey do stand up on the telly.

You've not seen funny until you've seen his Kraftwerk rendition of the hokey Kokey.

Miike : I only saw Audition which I liked and Ichi The Killer which I didn't.

Kitano : I've seen them all. I love the way he shoots and edits his movies.
My faves are : Hana Bi, Brother (aka Aniki), Dolls, Zatoichi and Sonatine.
Violent Cop, Kikujiro and Kids Return are ok.
A Scene at the Sea, Getting Any? and Jugastu are quite boring/bad.

Thanks Floop. I forgot to mention that I also watched SNATCH yesterday, although unfortunately it was more like half-watched. Studying for midterms can be quite the deterrent. What I really liked about the film though, is that although I was distracted throughout and was unable to form any sort of concrete connection to the characters, or quite figure out the plot, the movie had me somewhat captivated.

last night (sorry KOK) i watched THE BOURNE IDENTITY. i enjoyed it. it had some serious cheese, but i enjoyed it in a non-serious, action-packed thriller kind of way. plus, i have a crush on Franka Potente.
